Kinder Gym

We are endorsed by Gymnastics Australia as a Kindergym Australia Provider
Our Kindergym program caters for children aged 18 months to 5 years. It involves participation by you and your child in a fun, safe environment with qualified coaches.

Our 45min program teaches children movement skills and develops overall coordination. They participate in free play as well as structured activities making learning fun.

Benefits and activities

  • Creatively explore and practise skills safely, building self-confidence and self-esteem.
  • Positive experiences influencing a child’s outlook on physical activity for life.
  • Child and parent/carer interact in a fun environment.
  • Activities are safe, stimulating and challenging.
  • Parent/Carer involvement reinforces the healthy lifestyle message.
  • Free Play – children have the opportunity to explore and interact at their own pace.
  • Group Activities – music is used to encourage movement and rhythm in combination with hand held apparatus.
  • Circuit Activities – incorporate climbing, balancing, swinging, rolling and jumping.

Recreational

Catering for kids from 5 -12 years our 1 hour structured program covers the basics of introductory gymnastics.

The sessions promote good health through improving strength, flexibility and fitness. Children will participate in activities such as tumbling, balancing, swinging and jumping in a fun and safe environment.

Those who are beginners will participate in the Stepping Stone Award Scheme, working through six progressions leading to the National Levels Scheme. Gradings are held at the end of each term and children are presented with certificates.

Competitive

Gymnastics for those wishing to compete.

After progressing through the recreational Stepping Stone award system, children may choose to move into the competitive levels stream.

Levels gymnasts can compete in club competitions at the end of each term and are eligible for selection to compete in regional competitions.

The program includes strength and flexibility exercises, new skills and routine learning and practice. In competitions each gymnast is required to perform a routine on vault, bars, beam and floor. It’s only as competitive as the child wishes to make it. Our focus is on providing a happy and stimulating environment allowing each child to reach their maximum potential.

Development Program

An introduction into competitive gymnastics this class is 2 hours twice a week. Gymnasts focus on skill development, stretching, strength, dance and competition preparation. From this class gymnasts are selected to go into our levels or gym fun programs.

Levels 1-10 Program

Gymnasts move onto Levels following the Development Program. They will train more often with a commitment to the sport, attaining skills safely and compete effectively.

GymFun Program

Gymnasts attending this 2 hour class once a week, have completed our development program or have been attending the levels program. They will concentrate on complex skills, but don't have the desire to compete or cannot commit to the levels program.

GymSkills Programs

GymSkills class is part of our development program; the program covers the fundamental skills of each of our competitive programs. The components covered are TeamGym, GymFun, WAG Development, FreeG and competitive levels.

Students are chosen from our recreation program after they reach step five to move into the GymSkills class. Once students show a talent or interest in one of our programs they are learning, they will then be offered a place in the competitive program to further extend their skills.

GymAbility

Gymnastics is a fun, inclusive sport. Focuses on individual physical development through motor, cognitive and social skills, balance, coordination and enhances self-esteem.

At the Quaycentre, Sydney Olympic Park we follow Gymnastics Australia’s vision of gymnastics as a sport for all. Our GymAbility program encourages participation in a supportive and sociable environment fostering connections and friendship.

We offer a variety of gymnastics programs that can cater for specific needs through specialised 1:1 coaching, small group therapy or recreational group classes. Our coaches are qualified, experienced and adaptive to the physical, sensory and learning requirements of every individual.

For further details on how we can be a perfect fit with your organisations’ needs please contact us.

Gymnastics is our passion at the Quaycentre and we are excited to share news of our GymAbility Program. In partnership with Special Olympics and Gymnastics NSW our GymAbility program will be involved in a pilot program.

We will also be expanding the program to our Kindergym program. The class will focus on inclusion for children aged 2 - 6 years who have special needs. All students are accompanied by their parents/guardians and engage in a supportive and sociable environment and share in the benefits of our specialised sport through physical development, motor and cognitive skills and self esteem. Complete enquiry form and a staff member will be in contact.

FreeG

FreeG is a term to describe a new and rapidly developing activity that encourages participants to use traditional gymnastics equipment in new ways.  It draws on influences from martial arts, free running, parkour, tricking and breakdance.

The FreeG kids program introduces participants to key concepts and basic skills.  The sessions are structured and use a wider variety of warrior circuit activities to keep children active and engaged.  As with all Gymnastics Australia programs, FreeG kids sessions focus on teaching children fundamental movement skills using fun and engaging sequential activities that build on the existing skills and knowledge of each participant.
