Draft Parklands Plan of Management
The main role of the draft Parklands Plan of Management (POM) is to establish a framework for managing the Parklands in a way that balances conservation, recreation, community use and future growth. The Plan supports the delivery of Master Plan 2050 while ensuring the Parklands continue to protect and enhance their unique environmental, cultural and recreational values.
The draft Plan provides a clear and consistent approach to how the Parklands are used and managed. It sets out future directions for the Parklands, including how natural areas, community spaces, recreation facilities and heritage places will be maintained, enhanced and enjoyed by current and future generations.
The Plan focuses on:
- protecting and enhancing biodiversity and natural habitats
- caring for Country and recognising Aboriginal connections to place
- preserving and celebrating cultural heritage
- supporting community wellbeing and recreation
- improving visitor experiences and accessibility
- managing climate resilience and environmental sustainability
- balancing conservation with growing community demand for open space
- providing resilient parkland assets and infrastructure.

The draft Parklands Plan of Management is on public exhibition until 11.59pm on Sunday 1 November 2026 and the community, businesses and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback as part of this process.
You can view the draft POM online or by visiting our office at Level 8, 5 Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park. Take a seat while you read a hard copy, available Monday-Friday, 10am - 4pm during the exhibition period.
