Cancellation policy

A cancellation fee will be applicable if the excursion is cancelled within 4 weeks of the confirmed date or if the class numbers are reduced. A cancellation fee of $160 per class cancelled will apply.

Tip: Make a note in your diary to do a final head count and then contact our Bookings Coordinator at [email protected] with the final number of classes no later than 4 weeks prior to your booking.

Duty of care

The School teacher must exercise ‘duty of care’ at all times during the excursion. One teacher must be present at all times to supervise their class. Teachers must supervise student use of the park bathroom facilities at all times.

Emergency contact

If you have any issues on the day eg delays in arrival times please contact us on 0408 131 526. Please send us a current emergency contact for your group prior to your excursion.

First aid

Accompanying park staff carry a small First Aid kit. However teachers are advised to supply their own First Aid Kits. Epipens and associated ASCIA documents are kept at the Education Centre and Education Annex within Bicentennial Park for use in emergency situations.

Wet weather

If the forecast is for rain, please call the Education team on 0408 131 526 the day prior to the excursion to discuss your options for rescheduling. As we are an outdoor education facility, wet weather options are not available and therefore we do advise rescheduling.

Please note that if the school cancels on the morning of your excursion day due to rain you may incur a cancellation fee.

What to bring

Please pack:

  • Morning Tea
  • Lunch
  • Water
  • Insect repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Wet weather gear

Please apply insect repellent and sunscreen to students as soon as you get to the park in preparation for your excursion.

What to wear

For field based excursions, students and teachers are advised to wear comforatable flat, covered footwear (not gumboots), a broad brimmed sun hat, appropriate and comfortable clothing and rain gear if necessary. Sports uniforms are most appropriate.
